HtH79 – INTERREGNUM With Love, From Cyberstan
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Minara writes an email from home.
Cyberstan, Velus Sector.
Far above the planet where the hateful machinery of the automaton legion is being bombarded by the righteous firepower of Galactical Democracy, the Fist of Family Values hovers in high orbit.
The familiar jingle of triumphant trumpets leads us to the front deck windows, where Minara Incognito is busy thumbing out a message on a floating chatbox!
"Good sister-in-law, you missed out on the entire Cyberstan campaign...!"
The girl's thumbing becomes even more rapid, as she recalls the horrific campaign on Cyberstan, where nothing seems to have gone right!
Of the hateful, clankerous, three-storey tall engines of dissidence; the Vox Engines, blaring hip-hop and other unsavory messages too inappropriate for a text mail!
Of how they always seemed to appear out of thin air due to malicious Sw^dish code!
Of how they would impossibly fit through sewer grates too small for its size!
Oh, you had to be there to understand!
Minara bites her thumb.
How should she bring up the subject?
Telling her good sister-in-law directly might not be a good idea... Even if she laughs it off as she is apt to do, what would the other girls at the house think?
She was hardly close to the rest of them.
Most importantly, what would *the scary brown-haired girl with glasses say?
It certainly wasn't HER fault 'that' happened!
No, it cannot be Minara's fault, for Managed Democracy(TM)... is faultless!
The girl looks out the deck window, touching the tip of her two index fingers together. Below, the red flames of freedom lick the sky, visible even from outer space! No more Vox Engines blaring propaganda like 'Vegetables are a healthy addition to a diet!' That'll teach em' clankers!
And now, with the campaign on Cyberstan looming to a close, Hxlldiver morale across the galaxy is at an all-time low.
The situation now was delicate... to say the least! Botdivers blaming Bugdivers; Glazedivers finding fault with Buffchads, Riggeddivers just plain ignoring the MO, all those terms incomprehensible and a sign of the terminally online! (t. Minara)
The place had been built like a tinderbox to begin with, yes, it wasn't her fault, even if someone seeks a problem with her, it was because they had it out for her!
So the girl decided to do what she always does:
Put off the issue for later.
And...
... allude to it in a somewhat roundabout way.
"Just so that you know...! If hypothetically, it was morally right to burn down an entire planet...
I'm not saying that it was intentional...
... but we really should have set fire to Lesath!"
Absolute dribble spills out like nonsense out of her mouth, words that only her fellow Diver-In-Law would understand! Her hand trembles for a bit...
... before she timidly pokes the 'SEND' button!
When she does, she collapses rollingly backwards onto the deck floor!
There!
She had done the morally right thing to do!
Still clutching her head while rolling around on the floor, she screams to nobody particular in the room while the Democracy Officer nearby raises an eyebrow,
"Ahhhhh!!!! What am I going to do when they come back!!?!"
Hell's Theatre... continues!
This week, we are trying something different! This is a simul-posting at the same time as the Scribblehub release! Go check out the entire series at this link!
