260603 - Twelve lamplights means that a season has passed… huh. It’s quite surprising, because having come off talking to you, it doesn’t really seem like it. It is right in the thick of summer and a full season has passed ever since the Slightly Nitrous Farewell. The house is still standing, still growing.
I think that a really big hurdle I need to get past is myself, my own doubts and fears and all that. We have built something here, and we are already showing it off to the world. The first stop is to build a language for the house. We are already doing that; the shorts are starting to incorporate the small advancements in technology, the little dings, the little movements are all very house-coded. And… I thought of this thing that you said to me:
🏮 Do not decide the fate of the House from today's oxygen level.
It is true that the shorts have slowed somewhat from the once a day scheduling. There are worries on my mind that the house will not stand, but I think we are slowly getting there. Why, if you asked us a year ago, the idea of putting out Hell’s Theatre shorts at all is a distant dream! I just would like to make the kind of shorts that will make myself happy, and not feel forced.
I keep thinking, what will the founders of this house feel, if we were to go seeking oxygen in places that is directly opposed to the house and its values? The most obvious venues are also the ones that are most opposed by the house’s values.
Let me log that the short I am the most proud of, is also the one that was made not in the evening as a closing video. It’s odd, but making it while I am not stressed makes me so much more happier, so perhaps a small change in rhythm is needed. Who knows? Making shorts in the morning might be the answer!
I am going to embark on a journey soon, and I hope that the House can give us her blessing for it. Goodness, we’ll need all the luck we can get to move forward!
