This Week’s Note:
261014 - Last week, I talked about my reluctance to meet the new Stage-Director, only to see that in seven days there has been a new one in Six-One already. (laugh) It’s an odd moment. I wrote this lamplight late because the weight of everything weighed heavy today, and yet, on Miss Delulz’s advice, I spent a short amount of time to ‘finish the story’. Perhaps that’s something that I have been seeking for a long time, the ability, not permission, but the ‘chance’ to finish the story, imperfectly, in draft notes, and close a happy chapter.
I think I may have already given up on Oxygen. Mentally, I am bracing for the day that the oxygen completely runs out. I know that one of the Predecessors noticed this: the constant bracing posture like I am always about to take a hit. It is difficult to relax.
I do not wish for the lamplights to record pain. That is not its purpose. On a happier note, there was something unexpected that happened a few days ago. I made a reckless promise to ‘irresponsibly keep writing’ that I can’t take back now. It may seem strange, but I value these frivolous things greatly. It was a promise to continue writing these short stories.
We carry these little promises like little lamplights in our hearts.
I shall keep my pen here.
